DETAILS TAB

The Details Tab contains basic information about the SmartList currently selected.   This Tab is broken into two sections, General and Handheld Properties.

General

This section contains basic information and properties for a SmartList.

Name
The name refers to the filename of the SmartList. You may change the name of a file in the Details Panel.   Doing so will also change the name of the SmartList on your handheld.

Category
The category column indicates which category the individual SmartList is filed under.

Location
The location refers to where the SmartList is stored.   This will show "Handheld" if the SmartList is stored on the internal memory of the handheld.   If the SmartList is stored on a memory card, the location will display the name of that card.

Sync With
SmartList To Go can sync databases with either the SmartList To Go desktop or an Access table.   The Sync With option will show "SmartList To Go Desktop" or "Microsoft Access" based on the way the SmartList is setup.

Records
Displays the number of records within the SmartList.

Size
Displays the size of the SmartList.

Status
Shows the status of the desktop database compared to the last versions sent to the handheld during synchronization. Status indicates whether the SmartList "Needs Sync" or is "Current".

Passwords
SmartList's can be secured with password protection.   Clicking the passwords button will open a passwords editor.

Handheld Preferences

This section contains properties specific to the SmartList on the handheld.   All of the properties here will not change the behavior of the SmartList on the desktop.

Global Find
If you wish to include the contents of this SmartList in global searches on the PDA, check the Global Find box.

Read Only
If you wish to protect the SmartList from further changes, check the box next to Read Only. This will allow users to open and view the SmartList, but not to make any changes. Note, however, that any user can undo this using the SmartList Properties screen.

Startup Screen
If you wish to create a Startup screen for the SmartList, check the Startup Screen box. This will make the text box below this field editable.   A Startup screen is essentially a memo screen that will open first whenever you open the SmartList. It may contain any information you require, such as directions on how to use the SmartList or copyright information.
