DESIGNER TAB

The Design Tab in SmartList To Go has two functions, Field Design and Handheld Form Design.

Field Designer

The Field Design allows you to see all the fields that are currently in your SmartList.   Both the field names and field types are listed in the upper portion of the window.

The plus and minus buttons allow you to add and remove fields from the SmartList database.   Clicking the add button will pop up a new window allowing you to enter the field name and set the field type.   To remove a field from the SmartList database, highlight a field name in the field list and click the minus button.   This will remove the field and all corresponding values for that field from the SmartList database.

The Field and Properties tabs allow you to edit existing fields within the SmartList.   The tabs will display information in regards to the field highlighted in the upper portion of this window.   The Field tab displays basic information in regards to a field, the name and type.   The Properties tab allows field attributes to be set.   Any changes made to a field will potentially effect any values already entered into this field.

Handheld Form Design

The Form Designer screen is your primary interface for designing forms.   Setting up a form that is easy to read and enter data into is an essential part of your Smartlist database.

Add fields to your Form
Highlight a field on the left in the Field Design window.   Highlight an empty row on the right in the Form Design window and click the Field > button.

Moving Fields
Fields can be placed in different areas on your Form.   You can simply click on a field row and drag and drop it up or down to move the field on the Form.

Adding Tabs
Tabs allow for multiple pages within your form, this allows you to add more fields than can fit on one page of a form and keep data joined into logical pairings.

Adding Row Labels
You can add a Label to the Form to act as a title bar or data separator.   Highlight an empty row on the Form and click the Label > button.

Changing Form Properties
Highlight a row containing a field in the Form.   The Properties box below will contain settings for both the label of the field in that row as well   as the field display.   Changing properties will result in a Form update above.
