  8. After updating to Android OS 1.6 (Donut), why does my device go into an endless reset loop?
This issue only seems to be happening with a select group of customers. We are currently trying to track down the cause and provide a fix. If you are experiencing this issue, please visit the following support document and help us resolve this issue as soon as possible.

  9. Where do I report bugs and submit feature requests?
All feedback (good and bad) is important to us as we shape future versions of the software. To ensure that all submissions are tracked and monitored by the DataViz Android Team, please use the "Give Us Feedback" button in the main application. You can also submit feedback from a desktop computer here.

  10. Why does "push" stop working every now and again?
We are currently working on ways to improve our "push" logic, so stay tuned for an update that addresses some of the current issues related to maintaining a constant connection when the phone is on stand-by or syncing over WiFi. We continue to make changes throughout our development, which should help improve this, so please make sure to update if you have not already done so.

TIP: If you are syncing over WiFi, you may want to adjust your WiFi sleep policies. From the home screen, go to Menu > Settings > Wireless Controls > WiFi Settings > Menu > Advanced > WiFi Sleep Policy > Never

  11. Does RoadSync for Android support self-signed certificates?
Yes. The latest version should allow you to sync against servers using self-signed certificates.

  12. Does RoadSync for Android support bi-directional synchronization?
Yes. All changes to your RoadSync e-mail, calendar and contacts made on the mobile device will automatically sync with Exchange and be reflected when you open Outlook on the desktop (and vice-versa.)

  13. How do I view and create my Exchange contacts?
RoadSync will synchronize all your Exchange contacts to the built-in Contacts application while storing them as a separate group from your Google contacts. To view your Exchange contacts, simply launch the Contacts application > hit the menu key > tap Display group > select 'Exchange Contacts.'

When creating new contacts that you would like to sync to the Exchange server, simply launch the Contacts application > hit the menu key > tap 'New Contact' > select 'Create RoadSync contact' from the options.

  14. How do I add the RoadSync Calendar Widget to the home screen?
From the home screen, go to Menu > Add > Widgets > RoadSync Calendar.

  15. Will RoadSync for Android support inbox subfolders?
Yes. We realize this is a very important feature and it is on our roadmap.

  16. What features are planned next?
The Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync protocol supports plenty of great productivity enhancing features for Exchange Server 2003 and 2007. We can not comment on exactly which features will be implemented in our Android client, but we plan to add functionality via a series of updates.

You can also check out our feature matrix and to get a good idea of where we are headed based on features we already support on other mobile phone platforms.

And don't forget, please use the "Give Us Feedback" button in the main application to sum bit your requests to the DataViz Android Team. You can also submit feedback from a desktop computer here.

  17. How can I view a sync log or troubleshoot errors?
We understand that it is currently difficult to troubleshoot errors when using RoadSync. We are working to add more logging and help information to the product, but in the meanwhile, please review the following Technical Support Document which lists common error messages and solutions. To view the log, please launch the main RoadSync application > Hit the Menu > and select View Log. This will contain your sync history and any connection errors. Please note: it is not unusual for -1000 and -1001 errors to be shown here, but RoadSync typically tries to resolves these without any user intervention.

We are also looking to learn what circumstances may be unique to Android, so please use the "Give Us Feedback" button in the main application to submit your requests to the DataViz Android Team. If you are unable to even get up and running, please submit feedback from a desktop computer here. We can not promise to reply to all submissions, but we do hope to address most reported issues in a future version of the software.

  18. What do I do if the application is frequently force closing, not downloading or not working?
A good troubleshooting tip which will resolve many issues (especially if upgrading from one version to the next) is to Reboot, Reset, Uninstall and Reinstall.

    REBOOT -
Power on and off your phone by holding the Power button > Power off. You would be surprised how many issues this often resolves.

    RESET
    - To reset your RoadSync data, open the main RoadSync application > Menu > Reset All. This will remove all Exchange e-mail and contact data from your device which will be redownloaded from the server on your next successful sync. This also typically corrects any records or databases that may have becomes corrupted along the way.

UNINSTALL - To uninstall RoadSync, go to the main home screen > Menu > Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > RoadSync > Uninstall

REINSTALL - You can always download and reinstall the latest version of RoadSync through Android Market. Steps are here.

Hopefully, these steps will get you back up and running smoothly.
