Documents To Go?
In order to install and use Documents To Go, you must be:
- Using an 8700 series, 8100 series (Pearl), 8300 series (Curve) or 8800
series smartphone with BlackBerry Device Software 4.5.
- In addition, to use Documents To Go to view and edit e-mail attachments,
your organization must be running BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES) 4.1.5
or BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS) 2.5.
- If you do not have the latest updates of BES/BIS, you can still use Documents
To Go to view and edit files stored locally on your smartphone or on a media
card.

2. How can I find out what version of
BlackBerry Device Software I am using?
To determine your OS version, please follow the steps below:
- Select "Options" on your device. Sometimes this is within

Edition and the Premium Edition?
The version you received for free (as a result of upgrading to BlackBerry Device
Software 4.5 or purchasing a BlackBerry Bold) is called the Standard Edition.
The Premium Edition adds additional features and functionality. Please see the feature

2. How do I know if my version of BlackBerry
Enterprise Server (BES) supports native attachments?
The best way to find out if the version of BlackBerry Enterprise Server supports
native attachments is to contact your IT Administrator. However, you can also
try the following steps:
- Open an e-mail with an attachment (e.g. A Word file or Excel file).
- Press the Menu key to bring up the full menu.
- If you see a "Download Attachment" menu item, then you have the ability
to work with native attachments and therefore edit them in Documents To Go.
- If you do not see the "Download Attachment" menu item, then you do
not have the required version of BlackBerry Internet Service to work with native
attachments.

Service (BIS)?
Yes. Documents To Go supports BlackBerry Internet Service 2.5 and above.
With BIS 2.5 and Documents To Go, you will be able to view and edit e-mail attachments
on your smartphone.

PDF files?
