Frequently
Asked Questions
What happened to the MacOpener features within
Conversions Plus?
MacOpener has been discontinued from the DataViz product
line as of March 11, 2007. Because of our current business direction, we
were not able to update MacOpener in a timely manner to support many of
the new USB, FireWire and other drive types - as well as Windows Vista.
We are now offering MacDrive from Mediafour as an option to purchase with
Conversions Plus. See
more information.
Does
Conversions Plus work on a Macintosh computer?
No, Conversions Plus is a Windows only product. DataViz offers
a product with similar functionality for the Macintosh called MacLinkPlus.
You can learn more about MacLinkPlus by visiting the MacLinkPlus
Product Area.
Can
Conversions Plus translate multiple files at one time?
Yes, Conversions Plus can translate files in a batch.
What
is the difference between Conversions Plus and MacDrive?
MacDrive is most appropriate for people exchanging
files with Macintosh media who are running the same programs on both
platforms or who are using cross-platform compatible files. Conversions
Plus contains the
ability to translate files between various formats. When needing to convert
files off Macintosh media, you would first need MacDrive to view the Mac
disk on your PC, and then you would use Conversions Plus to do the file
conversion. Conversions Plus and MacDrive compliment each other in this
manner.
Can
Conversions Plus convert PageMaker or InDesign Files to QuarkXPress
and vice versa?
No. Conversions Plus does not support this type of
translation. There
is a product available called PM2Q
made by Markzware that is capable of this type of conversion.
Do you provide technical support for MacDrive?
