DataViz Previews Its Next Version of Documents To Go for the
Palm® Connected Organizer
Visit DataViz at Macworld San Francisco January 5-8, 2000 at Booth #1939

1/5/2000 --San Francisco-- DataViz® Inc., developers of MacLinkPlusTM, will be giving Macworld attendees a preview of the upcoming release of Documents To Go 2.003TM. Documents To Go allows users to access word processing and spreadsheet files on the Palm® Organizer. Currently in beta, Documents To Go 2.003 adds rich text viewing, document exchange via beaming, the ability to select and copy text, and support for Apple Script and Contextual Menus. DataViz expects to release this latest version later this quarter. The new release will be free to all current users of Documents To Go, or it can be purchased by new users for $39.95.

What is Documents To Go
Documents To Go allows users to take files made from their desktop applications like AppleWorksTM, WordTM or ExcelTM, onto the Palm Connected Organizer via synchronization. Now take price lists, contracts, year-end figures, proposals or other important files, anytime, anywhere.

Beam Me Up
Palm Connected Organizers allow users to “beam” memos, contacts, appointments, and other important dates to another Palm Connected Organizer using the built-in infrared port. Beaming documents is a fast, easy way to share meeting agendas and sales numbers. If the recipients do not have Documents To Go, the sender can simply beam them the viewer along with the documents. However, if the recipients do have Documents To Go, formatted word processing and spreadsheet documents will be created on the desktop the next time they synchronize.

Richer Viewing
DataViz has added support for richer text formatting to its word processing viewer. Documents containing tables, bold, underlining, italics, indenting, and bullets will retain that formatting when the document is converted and optimized for viewing on the Palm Connected Organizer.

These viewing enhancements allow users to take advantage of these important text features on their Palm Connected Organizer. Also, users will have the ability to select and copy text from within any document in Documents To Go, for pasting in other Palm applications.

Mac Centric Power Features
Documents To Go also supports Apple Script, which can be used to automatically receive e-mail attachments through OutlookTM or Outlook ExpressTM. Another “power user” feature is Contextual Menus. A simple control-click is all it takes to add any document to your Palm without ever opening an application. Send text to a Palm Connected Organizer from anywhere, including the Web, with a control-click.

Pricing and Availability
Documents To Go 2.003 is expected to ship the first quarter of this year. It will be a FREE upgrade to existing Documents To Go customers. Documents To Go is available in retail stores like CompUSA and MicroCenter, as well as many online sites for $39.95. It can be downloaded as a 15-day free trial directly from DataViz.
