I
learned about DataViz from an on-line classified ad in the Connecticut
Post. I had also heard great things about DataViz through a friend
who was already working in the DataViz Engineering Department. The
Sales and Marketing position was something I was very interested in
and with great things being said … how could one resist!
I
graduated from Emerson College (Boston) in 1997 with a B.S. in Communications.
As a communications major I took a wide range of classes focusing mainly on writing,
public speaking and marketing communications. Upon
graduation I worked for a large company and realized bigger wasn’t
better. The decision to leave was one of my best, and in turn my career
at DataViz started in the Spring of 1998.
I grew up in a town not too far
from Milford, and now commute only 30 minutes. The decision to return
to the area was based on the wonderful New England setting
that Southern Connecticut has to offer. As
a new hire I took on a wide scope of responsibilities. They ranged
from Sales and Technical Support to other various departmental projects.
The idea to expose me to many different positions allowed me to get
a better grasp for our products, company structure and most importantly
our customers. Understanding the business inside out enabled me to
take on the role of TeleSales Manager. After three and half years I’ve
moved on to a position in International Marketing.
I
am now on the road to learning the international software market and
making strides towards increasing our sales internationally. At DataViz
my opinions and hardwork really do count. It is gratifying to see that
you can make a difference in all aspects of the job. I am grateful
for the wonderful opportunities at DataViz! |
