In the summer of 2005 CJ was getting ready for his junior year at the University of Connecticut. Along with his degree in Computer Science he knew he needed some practical experience. While attending the Uconn Internship fair he learned about DataViz. CJ was very interested in the DataViz product line and their place in the mobile and wireless software market. He was excited to find an opportunity like this right here in Connecticut. That summer he began a paid internship that not only helped pay for school, but enabled him to build a foundation for a full time job.

CJ began his internship as a technical support representative in the product development group at DataViz. His responsibilities were primarily handling technical support inquiries over the phone and e-mail. This experience taught CJ about the importance of customer service and the value of customer satisfaction; subsequently he built a solid foundation of product knowledge. CJ continued to work at DataViz through the 2005-06 school year proving a commitment to the company and the customers he served while gaining more and more responsibility.

As CJ continued his internship in 2006 he joined the Quality Assurance team. This team is responsible for developing and executing test plans ensuring a product is ready to go to market. This was a great next step for CJ as he had valuable knowledge about customer expectations. He was able to draw on that experience while working in QA for the next version of Documents To Go. Once again CJ’s efforts earned him additional opportunities at DataViz.

In May of 2007 CJ continued his internship earning a spot on the engineering team working on a new edition of the DataViz flagship product, Documents To Go for Blackberry. Developing for this platform was new technology not only for CJ, but for DataViz as well. Working on new and innovative technology as well as playing around with trendy wireless gadgets has made the opportunity exciting. As an intern CJ takes pride in the fact that DataViz believes in him and his abilities to work on real products that will actually hit the market. CJ has seen the fruits of his labor and his hard work pay off.

As CJ began his senior year at Uconn he was offered a full time position in the Engineering department at DataViz upon graduation. It was CJ’s tireless work ethic, love for coding and professionalism that turned this internship into a full time career. As CJ prepares for graduation this May he can take great satisfaction that all his hard work and effort paid off. He is doing what he loves and getting paid for it.
