1. I purchased Documents To Go Full Version 2 for my Android OS. How do I install the free update to version 3?

==>>If you purchased Docs To Go Version 2 direct through DataViz, you can upgrade to Docs To Go Version 3 for free.

There are 2 ways to receive the update to version 3 if you purchased direct:
1) Open Docs To Go on your phone and hit menu>>check for updates. This will bring you to Google Play (formerly known as the the Android Market). Download the Documents To Go Main app version 3.0 (it should list this as "FREE")

2) Send the download link from DataViz to your Android.

Please ensure that once you have installed Documents To Go Version 3 on your Android phone that you also "activate" the product.

To do so:
1. Open DTG on the phone
2. Open [menu]->"Settings"->"About"
3. Press menu again in the "About" screen and select "Activate"

If you receive an error activating, please refer to the following document:
I receive a "No Key Found" error when trying to activate Documents To Go Version 3.

==>>If you purchased Docs To Go Version 2 through Google Play (formerly known as the Android Market) and are running Android OS 1.6 or higher, you can upgrade to Docs To Go Version 3 for free.

**Please Note: You need to update both the Main app and the Full Version Key to properly activate version 3 full version:

1) Launch the Market application on the Android phone
2) Select the Search menu, and search for "Documents To Go" or "DataViz"
3) This should find two apps: "Documents To Go 3.0 Main App" and "Documents To Go Full version Key 3.0"
4) Select each app and install the updated versions
5) When the installation is complete, open the Documents To Go app to make sure it works.

Documents To Go 3.0 viewer is now available through Google Play (formerly known as the Android Marke) for FREE. The free version allows you to view Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint files.

Additional premium features such as editing, creating, advanced viewing, plus a desktop application for bi-directional synchronization and more can be unlocked by purchasing a 'Full Version Key.' Pricing for the key can be found here.

Customers who have previously purchased Documents To Go Full Version 2.0 will receive the 'Full Version Key' 3.0 at no charge.

All purchases made through the market have a 24 hour refund policy which is as simple as clicking an "uninstall and refund" button.

Documents To Go for Android is available through Google Play (formally known as the Android Market) on your Android-powered handset. To find and install the software, please see the information here.

If for some reason you need to reinstall the software because you received a new device, had to hard reset a device or uninstalled a previous version, simply launch Google Play (formally known as the Android Market) and go to 'My Downloads.' You will be able to redownload and install any of your previously purchased software, including Documents To Go, so long as you are logged into the same Google account that you originally made the purchase.

 

2. What do I do if Documents To Go hangs or fails to install from Google Play (formally known as the Android Market)?
Please try restarting your phone and downloading again. If it still doesn't work, please review the steps on the following technical support document.

 

3. Can I install and run Documents To Go on a memory card?
Yes. To move Documents To Go to the SD card:

    1.     Open the "Settings" icon on your Android
    2.     Choose "Applications"
    3.     Choose "Manage Applications"
    4.     Tap on "Documents To Go"
    5.     Tap on "Move to SD card"

4. How do I send attachments?
When viewing a file in Documents To Go, tap your menu button and choose File. There is a "Send via Email" menu option. Simply select this and choose the appropriate e-mail application.

 

5. Why can't I find the Documents To Go Full Version Key in Google Play (formally known as the Android Market)?

7. How do I set up my Google Docs account on my Android?
Documents To Go Full Version 3.0 supports document synchronization with Google Docs. If you do not have a Gmail account set up yet, please click here to set up your Google Docs account.

You can download files from your online account directly to Documents To Go on the device, and any changes you make can be saved and synchronized back to that online account. You can also create new files in Documents To Go and upload them to your account.
 
To set up online file synchronization in Documents To Go, follow these steps:

    1.  Open Documents To Go on your device
    2.  Tap on Google Docs
    3.  Enter your Email and Password for your Google Docs account
    4.  Tap Ok
    5.  Return to the home screen in Documents To Go and tap Google Docs to access your account

 

8. I purchased Documents To Go Full Version and now I have 2 icons/apps on my Android. Can I uninstall one of these apps?
When purchasing Documents To Go, you need 2 applications to remain installed on the Android device (Documents To Go 3.0 Main App and Documents To Go 3.0 Full Version Key).

You can hide one of these icons by following these steps:
    1.  Open Documents To Go on your Android
    2.  Tap your Menu button and choose "Settings"
    3.  Choose "Advanced Options"
    4.  Check the box that says "Hide Premium Key" and hit Ok
